Lotus Peace Project

Launched in 2024, the Lotus Peace Project is founded on the guiding principle: "World Peace begins with Inner Peace."  This initiative is rooted in the spiritual dimensions of Japanese incense ceremony and the symbolic power of the lotus, aiming to cultivate serenity and inner harmony across cultural boundaries.  The project draws inspiration from the ancient Japanese lotus believed to carry the genetic memory of the Jomon period (14,000-300 BC), and from Kyara,  the most rare and precious agarwood used in Japanese incense ceremony.  From these sacred materials, we have created two original incense lines: fermented Neri-koh, and fermented Kyphi, crafted with deep reverence for the the life force inherent in each.  These fragrances are designed not merely to delight the senses, but to support emotional purification and spiritual renewal.  In recent years, interest in Japanese traditional culture and philosophy has grown significantly worldwide.  Concept such as Ikigai, which is a uniquely Japanese notion of purpose and meaning in life have gained international recognition.  Through our work, we seek to respond to this global cultural curiosity and contribute to a shared platform for dialogue, reflection, and mutual understanding.  

The Lotus Peace Project actively engages in international outreach through collaborations with: - Universities and academic institutions - Museums and art galleries - Japanese Embassies and cultural centers - East Asian and comparative cultural research organizations.  Our activities include lectures, Japanese incense ceremony, and symposiums that introduce the philosophical and aesthetic dimensions of fragrance and the hidden power of lotus to diverse audiences.  Looking ahead, we aim to deepen interdisciplinary collaboration with artists, musicians, dancers, filmmakers, and craftspeople, creating new forms of cultural expression at the intersection of incense, art, and education.  In addition, our hands-on workshops in incense-making are designed to be accessible to participants of all ages from children to older adults, serving as platforms for environmental education, cross-cultural exchange, and spiritual growth.
